Happy Valentine’s Day…and welcome to the Stimulus Bill massacre. No Al Capone or Bugs Moran, just Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and a guy named Chuck Schumer. Add them up and the Capone assignations look like pikers. In sixty-four years I can’t remember when I have seen as much corruption and nefarious activity in the public servant sector. Some have referred to the Obama stimulus bill as pork, but I see it as the screwing of America by elitists who survived the sixties. If ever there was a more complete longitudinal study of the effect of drugs on young people we are entering the final stage of the study with spokespersons like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the rest of the corrupt legislators behind the scheme. Much has been said about the Mighty Marsh Mouse in San Francisco Bay and the million we have committed to its survival, so let’s continue on that path. How can anyone in the conservation or environmental movement agree to spend that amount of money on a mouse? Would it not be better spent on people who are in need of appropriate housing, suitable drug treatment for their addiction, appropriate care for children abused and subject to continued abuse, and appropriate care for our veterans with lifelong disabilities and in need of long term and specialized health care? The Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse is an example of how the demented minds of liberals and far-left conservationists have drifted in the past few years. There is no rhyme or reason to make this abusive commitment to a creature going through a natural adjustment phase in its evolutional cycle. It doesn’t need any help from you and me to help it live or die! Nor do the salt marshes in the San Francisco Bay and Sacramento Delta need our help either. If we choose to build in those environments then we need to accept the consequences with no bail-out help from tax payers. Stupid is as stupid does and those who chose to live on a cliff or on a beach in an ocean or heavy storm area need to accept responsibility for their lack of judgment. Apparently, Mr. Obama learned to use his scare tactics from the conservation industry pros. As a member of the Defenders of Wildlife I received a bleeding heart call from a professional solicitor praying for me to donate to the Alaska wolf protection project that they were using as their hook to capture many of their members. The first words out of the fundraisers mouth were to blame Governor Sarah Palin for the killing of defenseless wolves from helicopters. One of the pitches to my soft heart was that the poor animals were run until they could run no longer and then shot from a hovering helicopter as they lay there pleading for their lives. WOW, that was a well structured pitch and got me fired me up. The solicitor, however, omitted a few facts and details that have resulted in my resignation from this group. Lie to me once shame on you, lie to me twice shame on me. The lie was not telling me that the reason for controlling the wolf population was the attacks on the caribou herds and the significant decline in their numbers. The natives in the area need caribou to feed their families and for other economic purposes. So why not offer a protection plan for the caribou as well? My thought is they don’t have the same sympatric eyes as a caribou. Shame on the Defenders of Wildlife! The Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse will survive with or without our help. The crime, Nancy, Barbara and Diane, is the gifting of my money to lying conservation groups who know they will not and cannot help the mouse. However, my cash will find its way into their pockets of nefarious conservationists allowing them to continue misrepresenting the facts and developing lying appeals for funds for projects like the “Save the Wolf” from Sarah Palin project. Instead of tax dollars, let’s send Nancy and her gang of thieves a mouse trap and call it a day.
