THIS AND THAT
N.Y.Times, 2/20/09: Arkansas; The State Senate, God bless them, has banned abortion (partial-birth) in layman’s terms “killing a baby outside the womb near the end of its term,” and establishing criminal penalties for doctors who perform the procedure. Now if we can get Kansas to do the same, the pro-life folks on the Great Plains will be in line with the Razorback State. AP, 2/26/09: Kudos to the Colorado State Senate! At least something is looking good in the Rocky Mountain State. No ban on plastic bag; can you imagine that? The pro-business republicans in the legislature added a few democrats to prevent the implementation of a mandatory law that would outlaw the bags. No more trying to pick up my groceries when one of my frozen food acquisitions starts to thaw and causes the bottom to fall-out. No more trying to pick up my dogs excrement with a rubber cupped picker-upper, ooh what a mess. Now I can use the handy dandy former grocery bag to do the job for me. Besides, you can’t carry your worms in a paper bag or your lunch will stay dry on a rainy day. Speaking of rainy days…can you image the mess trying to cover your head from the precipitation with a brown paper bag? Oh yes, one more thing, “I discussed the ban with my friends the trees and they are ecstatic….more of them will be allowed to live, and for that they are very thankful. NY Times.com, 2/20/09: Where is Orek when you need them? The Nature Conservancy of Hawaii has developed a “super-sucker” affectionately known as a “Lewinski,” to remove damaging seaweed-like algae. The co-project with the University of Hawaii may be introduced worldwide if it proves to be effective and satisfies the needs of the user. USA Today, 2/17/09: If you were getting a pink slip would you be upset if your boss was having waffles at Buck’s, a snooty breakfast joint for computer geeks in the Silicon Valley? Buck’s is suffering from the recession these days because too many of the irresponsible geeks are staying away. Some won’t spend a dime on gas to get there; deals aren’t coming together as easily as they had before so why bother, the IPO market is drying up. Don’t you just hate it when that happens? What did you have for breakfast today? Glenn Beck, FCN, 2/26/09: Barack Obama is a coward and a hypocrite. In the most recent budget bill introduced he claimed there were no earmarks. Not only were there earmarks in the supplemental spending bill, he and Joe Biden had their names on a few. Obama on at least one and Biden on too many to count. When challenged, the White House said that Mr. Obama wanted his name removed from the earmark; however, the earmark would remain and this, my friends, is our commander and chief. NY Times, 2/19/09: Pope Benedict XVI, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, has shunned Nancy Pelosi. Pelosi the democratic congresswoman from California believes and promotes the fact that the Roman Catholic doctrine is non-specific when it comes to abortion, homosexuality, and other social issues. The Pope was emphatic about the Church’s position on life, “It begins at conception and ends with natural death!” Enough said. This writer believes that all Roman Catholic political leaders should be excommunicated by the Church if they advocate abortion or the acceptance of homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle. Pelosi, Biden, John Kerry and others fall into this category. When can we expect the Church to rule on their fate? The Wall Street Journal, 2/19/09: The bleeding heart liberals believe that sex offenders should be given more latitude to find housing and not be persecuted as much as they are when they are released from prison. In Georgia alone there are 16,000 registered sex offenders in the state. Feel comfortable about your neighborhood and your children’s security? Do you think a released sex offender has paid his debt to society when he’s released? There will be more in the future in the blog section but for the time being, take my word for it, every sex offender should be castrated, have all his rights removed, be kept in solitary confinement without privileges and left to rot until death do him apart from society. My Point of View, 2/26/09: If Al Franken happens to find enough votes in some democrats’ garage, remember this: He failed as a comedian, failed as a pay-to-hear public speaker, and failed as a radio talk show host. He probably concluded that it didn’t take any talent to run for the U.S. Senate seat in Minnesota. What does that say about the people in the land of 10,000 Lakes? N.Y. Times, 2/22/09: Slavery is far from being dead! Just ask the farm workers picking crops in the fertile valley of California. Once you understand their plight, head out to the high chaparral of Wyoming and Colorado and ask the sheep solitary herders working the flocks 24/7, 365 a year on an income of 0 a month. I’ll have a more pointed view of farm worker abuse under the blind eye of Nancy Pelosi in a future blog. Glenn Beck, 2/25/06: Did you know that the largest cash crop from California coming to a neighborhood near you is Marijuana. California wants to tax pot so that they can pay down a significant amount on the state’s pending bankruptcy. What next?

I have a concern for our environment, not only because it is killing us but for the role I have as a father and grandfather and my contribution to the solution and more so to the problem. I promise not to thump you over the head with radical and extreme themes and charges, only to remind you that evil wins when good men do nothing. Love is a commitment; today, tomorrow and always! Let's be problem solvers together!
